“Let the games begin.”

Wow. “The Hunger Games” fan art is getting a huge response. I’m glad you guys like them. It’s probably the most fun I’ve had drawing fan art. I’m reading “The Hunger Games” trilogy for the second time, and am currently on “Catching Fire.” There will definitely be more fan art. Prim will be next. I’ll leave the rest a surprise, but I could be easily swayed if anyone had any requests. Thanks for looking.

“May the odds be ever in your favor.” Hunger Games Fan Art.

Katniss Everdeen, arher, archery, hunger games, copic marker drawing

I will admit, I love The Hunger Games trilogy. So of course that resulted in some fan art. Suzanne Collins describes a very visual world, which makes it so easy to draw inspiration from. And when Katniss and Peeta actually get to the Hunger Games, all bets are off.

I really wanted to draw Katniss with her bow, mid hunt in the arena. Peeta fit better within the borders of District 12. And being the boy with the bread, he had to actually have some bread. For Gale, I wanted the background to be the coal mountains of Appalachia. There’s something rugged about that, which works for him.

So I present to you the tributes of District 12 ( and Gale Hawthorne). These are my interpretation of the characters. I am eager to see the movie, but I wanted to get some drawings done before it changed my image of the world of Panem. I couldn’t resist drawing Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and Gale Hawthorne.

If you enjoy these, let me know. I’m open to suggestions for other characters.

Let the 74th Hunger Games begin.

“I am Jack’s smirking revenge.”

So the post quote has nothing to do with anything. It’s just a fight club kind of night.

Anyway, new art. Two new Copic Marker pieces, which I am still obsessed with. I can’t possibly express just how awesome they are. And they are refillable, so they’re good for the environment.  Also, everyone needs some Rogue and Gambit now and then. Enjoy, and stay tuned for a making of the Rogue and Gambit piece in the near future.

“Carry on my Wayward Son.”

Also, some new art.

In honor of the new season of Supernatural, here are the Winchester boys, Sam and Dean, and Castiel. I personally think Supernatural is one of the most under rated shows on TV at the moment (especially if you look at the earlier seasons).

Many references were used for Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins. And a whole mess of pictures of crows.

Sam, Dean, and Castiel belong to the CW and Eric Kripke.

“Perhaps there’s a cosemetic solution. Some more lipstick.”

New make up!

This was a lot of fun to do. sculpted the prosthetic on a cast of my face from a couple of years ago. I did my negative mold today, then poured in the silicone to create these custom fit prosthetic pieces. These were inspired by Pam’s make up this season on “True Blood.” Her rotting face was WONDERFUL and I knew I had to do it. This was the first attempt today, and will be refined until I’m happy. I’m thinking of making the cheek piece that can be torn off as well.

The silicone came from a company called Brick in the Yard. They’re a wonderful, super helpful company. Be sure to check out their stuff at www.brickintheyard.com.

Enjoy.

Where did April go?

Hell, where did May go?

I will have awesome pictures from Midnight Productions “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the wonderful Keswick theater…soon. They were taken by the AMAZING Lisa Helock Spring. I have to thank her for getting such wonderful shots because mine weren’t so good.

I’ve been working on some really fun things. Lots more playing with Copics. I’ll have lots of fun stuff to show, also soon.

I will be working on a production of “Agamemnon” this summer, so expect lots of art. In fact, here’s some art to hold you over:

The End is Nigh

poster, inferno, dante's inferno, gates of hell, dante and virgil, digital art

The final poster for “Inferno” put together by Broken Glass Productions. I had a lot of fun with this. The play focuses pretty heavily on technology, so I wanted to bring that across with out hitting you over the head with it. I decided to play a bit with the iPod aids. I went with the bold colors, but instead of a black figure, I went with white. I wanted to show that Dante and Virgil aren’t really a part of this world. They’re being drawn to the gates of hell–and to New York.

If you’re in New York Easter weekend, be sure to check out this awesome show. There are more details on their website.

And if you are in PA for Easter weekend, be sure to come check out “Jesus Christ Super Star” at the Keswick theater.
